Fridolfing now at the bottom again – sign: “Some requirements not implemented”

With their 0:4 home defeat against TSV Dorfen, TSV Fridolfing have once again taken over the red lantern of the last bottom team in the East Football District League. Tobias Schild from the coaching team was of course not at all satisfied: “Some of the instructions were not implemented as a team today. Overall, it was simply far too little to achieve anything.”

The guests from the district of Erding took the lead with their first opportunity in front of 110 spectators: Markus Mittermaier took advantage of confusion in the home team's penalty area with a dry finish (8th minute). The hosts came close to equalising a few times, with David Prams missing the far corner with a low shot (9th minute), Schild's spinning shot being blocked (17th minute), and Christian Fuchs heading just wide of the goal after a corner (26th minute). On the other side, Gerhard Thalmaier narrowly missed after a great attack and perfect ball control (29th minute), before they finally managed to extend the lead: It came in the 36th minute when Fridolfing ran into a counterattack, Alois Eberle stayed cool and sunk the ball flat into the net – 0:2. The strong Dorfen goalie Alexander Wolf prevented Alex Auer from scoring a goal in the 39th minute, meaning he was unable to crown his great dribbling.

The visitors' third goal was scored before half-time, which robbed the promoted team of almost all their hopes. Leon Eicher was left completely alone in the middle and pushed the ball in to make it 0-3 (42'). “A deserved lead for Dorfen, we had one or two chances, but overall we didn't have enough power,” summed up the home team's sporting director, Bernhard Zeif.

Guest coach Andreas Hartl: “Very mature performance”

After just over an hour, Maximilian Kiermeier was beaten in the Fridolfing goal for the fourth time: After an unnecessary mistake in the build-up, it was ultimately Alois Eberle who coolly put the ball into the net (62nd minute). Sepp Aschauer and Tobi Schild's team continued to try hard, but there was no way to beat the clever guests that day. Dorfen's coach Andreas Hartl spoke of a “very mature performance” from his team, but also praised Wolf for one or two brilliant saves. “If Fridolfing had scored the goal, it would probably have been a completely different game,” said Hartl.
