AG must act urgently in case of attack on a disabled e-hailing driver

COMMENT | Suhakam is deeply concerned about the apparent continued neglect of critical human rights issues affecting vulnerable communities, despite our call and repeated calls for action from civil society and affected individuals.

In particular, Suhakam is referring to the alleged complaint that e-hailing driver Ong Ing Keong, a person with disabilities, assaulted a police officer. The alleged incident occurred on May 28, almost four months ago. Unfortunately, to date, no criminal action has been taken against the police officer in question.

Suhakam reiterates what we stated in our previous media statement of August 16.
