Drew Barrymore started taking drugs at the age of ten

Demi Lovato (32) and Drew Barrymore (49) reveal their new drug past in a documentary. Hulu documentary “Child Star”which was released on September 17 and was directed by Demi, the 32-year-old singer and actress interviews other former child stars, including Drew Barrymore. In the interview, Drew revealed that she first took drugs when she was just ten years old – together with her mother’s friend.

The documentary is primarily about the traumatic experiences that the former child stars have had. Drew, who comes from a family of actors and became world famous through the film “ET – The Extra-Terrestrial”, talks about, among other things, her early entry into show business. “I started working when I was eleven months old, it was an advertisement, and since then I have never stopped working, except when my mother put me in a job.she says.

Christina Ricci (44), known from the film “Mermaids Kiss Better”, also talks about her youth. She says that in her teenage years she immediately turned to drugs and alcohol because that was the only way she could be happy. The documentary not only brings shocking truths to light, it also shows the vulnerable side of those stars who were already in the spotlight as children.
