Nienburg: Knife attack at the train station – victim stable, suspected perpetrator arrested

The 34-year-old, who comes from the Nienburg district, was attacked by a man with a knife on Friday evening. The police confirmed this on Saturday. “After an emergency operation, his condition is stable,” the police said.

Suspected perpetrator flees

Witnesses had observed an argument between several people at the station and called the emergency services at 7:43 p.m. on Friday. Police officers from Nienburg, Hoya and Stolzenau were sent to the station. The incident is said to have occurred in the area of ​​the taxi rank.

When they arrived, the victim of the knife attack was already being cared for by the emergency services. The man was taken to hospital. The suspected perpetrator was no longer at the scene; he had initially fled.

Arrested that night
