BJP on the Ajit Prasad case

Commenting on the case, BJP IT chief Amit Malviya took to social media and said, “Faizabad MP Awadhesh Prasad, whom Akhilesh Yadav is currently supporting, has a son, Ajit Prasad, who 'kidnapped' and 'beaten up' Ravi Tiwari. Ever since the Samajwadi Party won a few seats, the violence and hooliganism have not stopped.”

Malviya further said, “There is a saying in Uttar Pradesh: Wherever the SP flag is hoisted, goons are present.”

SP likely to nominate Ajit from Milkipur for Legislative Assembly by-elections

It is pertinent to mention that the Samajwadi Party is likely to field Ajit Prasad, son of Faizabad MP Awadhesh Prasad, as its candidate from Milkipur constituency in the upcoming by-elections, sources said. Milkipur fell vacant after Awadhesh Prasad was elected to the Lok Sabha from the Faizabad (Ayodhya) seat.

Though the dates for the by-elections have not been announced yet, there are speculations that the Samajwadi Party may field Ajit Prasad, son of Faizabad MP Awadhesh Prasad from Milkipur and Lalji Verma's daughter from Katehari. Candidates for the by-election, including Devmani Kanaujia, also approached the SP office today.

Parliamentary seats for which by-elections will be held are Katehari in Ambedkar Nagar, Karhal in Mainpuri, Milkipur in Ayodhya, Meerapur in Muzaffarnagar, Ghaziabad, Majhawan in Mirzapur, Sisamau in Kanpur Nagar, Khair in Aligarh, Phulpur in Prayagraj and Kundarki in Moradabad. Of these 10 parliamentary seats up for election, five were won by the Samajwadi Party, three by the BJP and one each by the Rashtriya Lok Dal and Nishad Party, both NDA alliance partners.
