Trump's office opens in Rochester – ABC 6 News

Olmsted County Republicans have opened a Trump office for the 2024 election in hopes of turning the county red in November.

(ABC 6 News) – Olmsted County Republicans have opened a Trump office for the 2024 election in hopes of turning the county red in November.

The opening took place at 1 p.m. on Saturday and voters came in shortly thereafter.

This will allow Republican supporters to get their hands on posters – not just for former President Donald Trump and his running mate JD Vance, but for all Republican candidates for the House of Representatives in Olmsted County.

Olmsted County Republican Party Vice Chairman Jim Niehoff says signs are an important part of any campaign.

“When you talk to political analysts, they say signs don't make a big difference, but I think they're an important part of the campaign and give people a chance to show who they're for. And that's really what this is about, and ultimately it's about turning Olmsted County red,” Niehoff said.

Across the aisle, DFL officials in Olmsted County say they are not surprised by the opening of Trump's office and are continuing to push full steam ahead.

“It's an election year and Rochester has a population of 120,000, so I'm sure votes will be counted for them as well. Rochester has definitely become a bluer city, but we're not taking anything for granted and we'll be knocking on doors,” said John Swanson, DFL Senate District 25 leader.

The office is open during the following times:

Monday: 10am-1pm and 4pm-7pm
Tuesday: 10am-1pm and 4pm-7pm
Thursday: 10am-1pm and 4pm-7pm
Friday: 4:00 p.m.–6:00 p.m.
Saturday: 1pm-3pm
