Update of the PRO set 703

22 September 2024

EFNOTE PRO 703X, Electronic Drums

In June 2023, EFNOTE introduced its PRO series for the first time. We have already tested the EFNOTE 703 and our author was more than impressed with the set. In his conclusion, he writes, among other things:

“A look at the components of the new EFNOTE PRO series makes the drummer's heart beat faster. The new cymbal variants are without a doubt on a par with the old shell and cymbal variants in terms of playability and quality. The new centerpiece, the EFNOTE PRO Cube, offers the most comprehensive connection options for cymbals and pads to date, as well as a variety of outputs and inputs.”

With the EFNOTE PRO 703X, a new version of the tested set is now coming onto the market. This comes in an elegant black oak finish and complements the existing PRO 703 set with an 8″ splash cymbal pad. It also contains a 17″ effect crash and offers extended playing options with three crash cymbals. The new, double extendable boom cymbal stands and the heavier snare stand should ensure maximum stability and flexibility, according to the manufacturer.

Here is our news about the PRO series from EFNOTE

Efnote Pro 500 700

Not so long ago, drummers didn't know what to do with the name EFNOTE. However, the relatively young manufacturer has quickly made a very good name for itself in recent years. This is also shown by our tests of the EFNOTE 7 and EFNOTE 3 electronic drum sets.

EFNOTE first presented the new PRO sets at NAMM 23, and now prices and availability have also been announced.

EFNOTE PRO 500 and PRO 700

The heart of the new PRO 500 and PRO 700 kits is the PRO module of the same name, including the associated stage box, to which up to seven pads and eight cymbals can be connected. On the output side, 12 balanced XLR sockets are available for connection. Each channel has a high-pass filter, 2-band equalizer, compressor (bus 1-6) and ground lift switch. The setup consisting of module and stage box can also be used as a USB interface (12 audio channels, 16 MIDI channels).

Regarding the configuration, there are the following differences between the listed PRO 700 and PRO 500 sets:

While the larger PRO 700 set is equipped with a 20 x 15 bass drum, a 14″ snare, two 11″ and 15″ toms and a 20″ ride cymbal, the PRO 500 electronic drum set is equipped with a 16″ bass drum, a 12″ snare, 10″ and 12″ toms and an 18″ ride cymbal. Both electronic drum sets have one thing in common: a 14″ hi-hat and a 16″ crash cymbal. These are the two standard versions of the kits, and many other configurations are listed on the manufacturer's website.
