Police find explosives in Anambra criminal camp

Joint security forces in Anmabra State yesterday discovered three more unexploded devices, vehicles, dangerous materials and other incriminating items at a criminal camp in Ihaila.

A statement released yesterday by the Public Relations Officer of the Anambra State Police Command in Awka, Tochukwu Ikenga, said the criminals' hideout was busted based on security intelligence gathered over time.

Three unexploded devices, two abandoned vehicles and some explosives such as copper wires, fuel and other hazardous materials were found in Lilu, Mbosi and Isseke areas of Ihaila.

Police Commissioner Nnaghe Obono Itam urged officers to maintain the tempo of operations and assured the people of the state that the police and other security agencies are determined to continue to maintain control of the country and deny criminal elements the space they have to wreak havoc in the state.
