Syracuse man arrested for assault after stabbing two women

SYRACUSE, NY (WSYR-TV) — Syracuse police officers were called to the 1000 block of South McBride Street for a report of a stabbing involving two victims. According to police, the stabbing occurred on Saturday, September 21, at approximately 2:51 p.m.

When police arrived, officers found a 45-year-old woman with a large cut on her face and a 52-year-old woman with numerous stab wounds on her upper body.

Latest news from the region

Both women were transported to Upstate Hospital by American Medical Response for treatment. Their injuries were considered non-life threatening.

A 31-year-old man was arrested and taken to the Onondaga County Justice Center and charged with the following:

  • Second degree assault, 2 counts

  • Third degree criminal possession of a weapon, 2 counts
