Scarlett Johansson reveals how her ten-year-old daughter inspired her latest film role: “I had to explain to her how it works”

For her latest film role, Scarlett Johansson was inspired by her little daughter.

The actress lends her voice to Elita-1 in the new animated film “Transformers One” and her eldest child, ten-year-old Rose, played an important role.

“If there's a particular film that my daughter loves, a Disney film or whatever, I watch the footage of it,” the 39-year-old told the Daily Telegraph this week.

“I remember when my daughter started watching films and Sing came out – I play Ash in Sing – I had to explain to her how it works, how the characters are animated, for example,” the American actress continued.

“I thought there were actors like me who would go in and give their voice to this thing, and then we started looking at it.

“I thought maybe she would like to see the process. It's absolutely fascinating.”

Scarlett shares Rose with her ex-husband Romain Dauriac; the former couple were married between 2014 and 2017.

She also has a three-year-old son, Cosmo, with her husband, comedian Colin Jost, whom she married in 2020.

Colin recently spoke candidly about family life with his wife and how he learned his first lessons in fatherhood while watching Scarlett with their daughter Rose.

It happened after the “Saturday Night Live” star began dating her movie star mother in 2017, when the toddler was just two years old at the time.

And through her relationship with the Hollywood star, the comedian was able to observe her mothering skills for five years before her own son Cosmo was born.

“I think one of the reasons I fell in love with her is because she's a great mother,” 42-year-old Jost said recently The New York Times.

“I've known Rose, my stepdaughter, since she was two years old. It's funny. As a mother, you can actually get an impression of someone.”

Johansson met Jost when she first hosted Saturday Night Live in 2006, several years before she married her first husband, Ryan Reynolds, but the two did not begin a relationship until over a decade later.

Johansson married Reynolds less than two years after she first met Jost on the SNL set.

Her first marriage to the A-lister ended in divorce in 2011, but she apparently found second love the following year when she began dating Rose's father, a French journalist and art dealer. The two had met through friends in Paris.

They made their romance public in November 2012 and legalized their relationship in October 2014 with their wedding in Philipsburg, Montana, about a month after the birth of their daughter Rose.

While the couple split their time between New York City and Paris, they eventually separated in mid-2016 and divorced in September 2017.

This opened the door for Jost and Johansson to reconnect 11 years after they first met and sparked further talks of romance in May 2017, when the actress made a special appearance on the season finale of SNL.

After the show, the two shared a warm hug on stage during the customary goodnight greetings and later headed to the after-party, where they were reportedly seen kissing. Page six.

Later that year, the comedian went public with their romance, and in November 2017, the two made their debut as a couple at the American Museum of Natural History Gala in New York City.

In October 2020, amid the COVID-19 pandemic, they tied the knot in an intimate ceremony attended only by their closest family and loved ones.

It wasn't long before their blended family grew in August 2021 with the birth of their first child together, a son named Cosmo.

During the same interview, the longtime Weekend Update co-anchor with Michael Che couldn't resist sharing “how many normal things” his wife enjoys doing, often with the help of a simple disguise.

“She goes to the supermarket. She's just good at wearing a hat and is constantly on the move,” raved the proud husband.

“She manages to stay a little under the radar, but she manages to do all these everyday things and enjoy them too.”
