Joan Collins' emotional tribute on BBC after she is shocked by death | TV & Radio | Showbiz & TV

Dame Joan Collins' emotions ran high as she recounted fond memories of her late sister in a moving segment on the BBC's The One Show.

The celebrated actress, now 91 years old, told stories from her illustrious career together with presenters Alex Jones and Roman Kemp.

In a touching revelation during the show, Dame Joan spoke of the sobering death of her sister, the renowned writer Jackie Collins, who died of cancer in 2015, shortly before her 78th birthday.

In an intimate discussion about hobbies and pastimes with co-host Alex, Joan was prompted to reflect on one of her nostalgic Instagram uploads – a hint of a creative talent that paralleled her acting: “Well, Joan, you posted a picture on social media of a hobby you had as a little girl.”

Viewers of the show were treated to a visual demonstration of Joan's artistic talent when a sketch appeared on screen to which she responded: “Yeah, I did loads of them because I didn't know if I wanted to be an actress or a fashion designer.” I designed for my mum and my aunts, reports Coventry Live.

Joan then went on to discuss her contribution to her sister Jackie's literary success before moving on to a poignant tribute: “I also did little drawings for my sister Jackie Collins' books. Incidentally, two days ago was the ninth anniversary of her death and we all toasted her. It was tragic.”

Talking again about her artistic endeavors, Dame Joan revealed how involved she is in the fashion industry: “I designed a lot of my own clothes because I never find anything I like.”

The episode also features a playful moment in which Joan politely declines Alex's enthusiastic suggestion that she come to a Taylor Swift concert.

Joan loves to celebrate contemporary talent and has praised superstar Taylor Swift highly: “Taylor Swift is a great role model for young people! I like her style of dress, I like her attitude to life and I think she's an icon. But I've never seen her before.”

Alex enthusiastically interjected, “Oh! You have to go, you’ll have a great time.”

However, Joan dispelled any speculation about a concert attendance with a playful retort, asking, “Where? Where should I go? Do you think I'm going to one of those arenas, excuse me!”, followed by an apology and giggles.
