Several dead suspected in collision between VIP bus and tanker in Suhum

According to preliminary investigations by the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS), the accident occurred when a tire of the tanker truck en route from Accra to Kumasi burst.

This caused the tanker to veer into the path of the VIP bus which was on its way from Tamale to Accra. The middle part of the bus was the most affected by the impact, leaving many passengers trapped inside the bus.

The rescue operations were demanding and lasted several hours. GNFS, police and rescue service personnel worked tirelessly to free the trapped victims.

Those who sustained life-threatening injuries were immediately taken to Suhum Government Hospital for urgent medical treatment.

So far, neither the Suhum State Hospital nor the police authorities have released official figures on the victims.

The population is still in shock and is eagerly awaiting further news about this devastating incident.
