Rickshaw driver killed in road accident in Bogura

BOGURA, September 21, 2024 (BSS) – A rickshaw driver was killed and a passenger of the tricycle injured when he was hit by a truck on Ranihat-Durgapur regional highway in Domargram Bol Dhar area of ​​Kahalu upazila of the district today.

The deceased rickshaw driver was identified as Abdus Sattar, 65, son of Muhammad Ali from Dhakanta area in Malancha union of the upazila.

The accident occurred when Abdus Sattar was travelling to Sabrul Bazar in the upazila with a passenger in his van. On the way, a truck crashed into the three-wheeler at around 1 pm, killing the driver of the rickshaw van and injuring the passenger, said Shahinuzzama, officer-in-charge of Kahalu police station.

Police recovered the body from the crime scene and handed it over to family members, he added.

The injured man was admitted to the Kahalu Upazila Health Complex, the OC said.
