Actor Parvin Dabas in intensive care after car accident

Actor Parvin Dabas was admitted to the intensive care unit of a suburban hospital on Saturday after a car accident, his family said.

Dabas, 50, has appeared mostly in Hindi and English-language films, including Mira Nair's “Monsoon Wedding,” “Maine Gandhi Ko Nahin Mara,” “Khosla Ka Ghosla,” “The Perfect Husband” and “The World Unseen.”

His wife, actress Preeti Jhingiani, said in a statement that Dabas, the co-founder of arm wrestling competition Pro Panja League, was recovering at Holy Family Hospital in Bandra.

“We regret to inform you that Parvin Dabas, Bollywood actor and co-founder of Pro Panja League, has been hospitalized following an unfortunate car accident in the early hours of Saturday and is in the Intensive Care Unit of Holy Family Hospital Bandra.

“The details of the incident are still being disclosed, but we can confirm that Mr. Dabas is receiving medical attention,” the statement said.

According to the statement, the management of Pro Panja League is closely monitoring the situation.

The Delhi-born actor was last seen in the second season of “Made in Heaven” and in Tahira Kashyap’s “Sharmajee Ki Beti”.
