Uschi Glas wonders about the moderator’s pronunciation in a TV show – and then gets extremely annoyed

When the Regensburg-born presenter of the BR show pulled her object – a bum bag with a picture of a belly button on it – out of the box, actress Uschi Glas, known from films such as “Winnetou and the Half-Breed Apanatschi” and “Fack ju Göthe”, unintentionally caused laughter with a question: Had a war happened?

Eva Karl-Faltermeier explained in her characteristic Upper Palatinate dialect: “It's a Dasche.” Uschi Glas asked, perplexed: “A bag with a T?” The studio audience reacted with great laughter and applause. Presenter Eva Karl-Faltermeier did not leave the correction of her pronunciation uncommented and countered humorously: “That the daughter of a Swabian and a Franconian, who grew up in Lower Bavaria, would once instruct me on my pronunciation. I'm honored.”

She then gave her description. But Uschi Glas remained skeptical. The 80-year-old was convinced that Eva Karl-Faltermeier was not telling the truth and said: “I think you're lying.” When it turned out shortly afterwards that the cabaret artist had actually told the truth, Glas was extremely annoyed: “Oh, no! No!”
