Sheboygan Falls man charged with sexual abuse of minors

SHEBOYGAN FALLS, Wis. (WBAY) – A Sheboygan Falls man is accused of sexually abusing a boy more than a decade ago.

According to a criminal complaint, a Sheboygan Police detective was assigned to a previous child sexual abuse case in Sheboygan Falls. The complaint states the abuse occurred in either August 2008 or 2009.

The victim stated that he lived near John Albright when he was 13 or 14 years old. According to the complaint, the victim, who is now an adult, reported that in August 2008 or 2009, Albright took the victim for a walk and began asking the victim questions about puberty and pubic hair.

The complaint then stated that Albright touched the victim inappropriately. The victim reported that Albright could tell he was uncomfortable. They moved on.

As they walked into an alley, Albright allegedly sexually assaulted the victim, the indictment states. The victim said it stopped when he pulled out his cellphone and a family member tried to contact him.

“Victim 1 stated that the defendant told him that the defendant believed he was gay. The defendant stated that it was a misunderstanding. Victim 1 reported that the defendant appeared panicked afterward,” the criminal complaint states.

The victim stated that Albright appeared to be intoxicated from drinking alcohol.

“Victim 1 stated that since this incident, he has had a casual conversation with the defendant. The defendant told him he was a very good-looking person and invited him to sit in the defendant's hot tub,” the criminal complaint states.

Albright was charged with second-degree sexual abuse of a child. At a court hearing on Thursday, Albright was held on $150,000 bail. He is due back in court on Monday for a status conference.
