Budgam: Four Border Security Force (BSF) soldiers were killed and 28 others injured in a tragic accident in Jammu and Kashmir's Budgam district. The incident occurred on Friday when a bus carrying 36 BSF personnel plunged into a deep gorge near Brel area of ​​Watarhaal.

The soldiers were being transported to polling duty as part of the second phase of the parliamentary elections. Rescue operations, assisted by local residents, were quickly initiated and the injured were taken to nearby hospitals.

Pictures from the scene showed the severity of the terrible accident. The bus was badly damaged and locals were seen rushing to rescue the soldiers injured in the accident.

An army member was killed in a crash earlier this week

This incident followed a similarly unfortunate accident earlier this week. An army vehicle met with an accident in Manjakote area of ​​Rajouri district on Tuesday, in which a soldier named Baljeet Singh was killed.

Four other army personnel were injured in the incident. After the accident, the injured were initially taken to the Government Primary Health Centre (PHC) in Manjakote before being shifted to the 150 Armed Forces General Hospital in Rajouri for further treatment.

The GOC White Knight Corps of the Indian Army expressed condolences to the family of fallen soldier Lance Naik Baljeet Singh. In a message posted on social media platform X (formerly known as Twitter), the GOC and all ranks of the White Knight Corps expressed their condolences to Singh's family and prayed for the speedy recovery of the injured.

“GOC WhiteKnightCorps and all ranks have expressed condolences to the family of L/Nk Baljeet Sing, the brave man who lost his life in a tragic road accident near Manjakote, Rajouri while on counter-insurgency duty. We pray for the recovery of the injured,” GOC White KnightCorps posted on X.
