Victim in coma after attack: Blasheimer market thug identified

Blasheim. A 40-year-old man from Rheda-Wiedenbrück was attacked and seriously injured at the Blasheim market in the early morning of September 8th. The police have now identified the Blama attacker. He is an 18-year-old from Espelkamp.

The perpetrator managed to escape after the brutal attack in front of the “Rosezelt”. The police then publicly searched for the perpetrator with an appeal for witnesses – and were successful: After the appeal, the police received several tips that have now led to the identification of the perpetrator, according to the Minden-Lübbecke police.

The victim sustained serious injuries in the attack and had to be put into a coma for a while. After several days of treatment, he was released from the hospital, so the police continued their investigation.

The suspect is being investigated for grievous bodily harm. He is currently at large. Since the conditions for an arrest warrant were not met, detectives are conducting a threat assessment after questioning the 18-year-old, who is known to the police.
