How do you spell Stuttgart correctly?: Embarrassing faux pas at new Raab show

Stuttgart residents' hair is probably standing on end: In Stefan Raab's new show “You won't win the million here”, the team makes an embarrassing mistake – and no one seems to notice.

After nine years, entertainer Stefan Raab is back in the TV spotlight. His new show “Du gewinnst hier nicht die Million” premieres on Wednesday on the private broadcaster RTL.

How the show works

The concept of Raab's new show is reminiscent of previous successes such as “Beat Raab”: Candidates compete against the entertainer in various categories. Whoever beats him moves on to the next round. Whoever fails is eliminated and a new challenger gets the chance. And for those who can hold their own against the quizmaster, a proud sum of one million euros awaits at the end. As usual, Raab fights for every victory – but in the last episode, another point was also remembered.

Nobody notices the mishap

Everything had to go smoothly for the comeback. For this reason, the show was not held live, but was recorded in advance. This way, any glitches and errors could be corrected during editing. But that doesn't seem to have worked everywhere: When Sören asked a quiz question to the candidate, he met with attentive viewers. The question was: “In which German city does Gamescom take place every year?” The choices were: “Dortmund,” “Frankfurt,” “Cologne,” and – “Stutgart.”

What? A “t” seems to have been lost in the name of the capital of Baden-Württemberg. How do Raab and candidate Sören react to this? Not at all. Neither they nor the post-production staff seem to have noticed the spelling mistake.

This district is particularly often misspelled

A letter can easily get lost and is often used by media professionals. Raab's team certainly knows how often the “t” appears in Stuttgart. Unlike the name of the state capital, one district of Stuttgart in particular is often misspelled: Bad Cannstatt. The name of the district, which at least football fans and Wasen-goers knew well, has often been “botched” in the past.

Here, too, a “t” is often forgotten or replaced by a “d”. Or an “n” is lost. Even the Stuttgart city administration had a mishap in 2018 when it immortalized the district on a sign with “S-Bad Cannstadt”.
