  • The 20-year-old fisherman Guillem C. died in a collision between a yacht and a fishing boat off Mallorca.

  • Dennis V., the son of a millionaire, was reportedly at the helm of the yacht and is suspected of being under the influence of alcohol.

  • The yacht crew continued to celebrate after the accident while the Guardia Civil investigated the ship.

At the end of August, a 20-meter yacht flying the German flag and a fishing boat collided off the coast of Mallorca – 20-year-old fisherman Guillem C. died.

On board and, according to reports, also behind the wheel was the millionaire's son Dennis V.*, who is now being investigated for negligent homicide. The Mallorcan newspaper “Gaceta Náutica” has published explosive new details from the Guardia Civil's investigation report.

Mallorca: Two collisions this evening

Other boat captains are said to have rammed the yacht “La Luna” into another boat on the evening of the accident. A boat captain who then confronted the crew stated that the crew appeared to be heavily intoxicated and he suspected that they had also consumed other drugs.

There were three people on the approximately three-meter-long fishing boat. According to the report, the two survivors said that they saw the yacht approaching them at high speed. The small boat was not sufficiently lit in the dark and Guillem C. tried to attract the yacht crew's attention and get them to move out of the way.

Contrary to what was previously thought, the yacht did not run over the dinghy, but grazed it. While Guillem's companions were able to hold on, he was thrown from the dinghy and suffered fatal injuries to his head, according to the report.

After Guillem died, the yacht crew celebrated

After the collision, the “La Luna” quickly drove away. According to witnesses, the yacht should not have been at the scene of the accident because it was not allowed to get so close to the coast in that area.

The yacht crew returned to the berth in the port of Cala Ratjada and continued partying in a club. The Guarda Civil examined the ship, found a lot of alcohol in the cabins and the steering area and sealed the ship. However, this apparently did not stop Dennis V. from boarding the ship around 24 hours after the fatal collision and carrying several bags from the yacht.

Without speaking to the police, the suspect flew to Germany

The next day, the millionaire's son, who was learning to be a pilot, flew to Germany in his plane without speaking to the police. It was only three days later – on the fifth day after the collision – that Dennis V. returned to Mallorca and refused to give a statement to the Guardia Civil before flying back to Germany.
