ProSieben draws a radical line – show is removed from the program

Whether a series, program or show is successful on television depends primarily on one criterion: the ratings. This is how broadcasters assess whether a format interests viewers or not. And ProSieben has now had to make a bitter realization.

Forget about “Superduper”, that was more like “Super mau”. ProSieben had high hopes for the “Superduper Show” with Bill and Tom Kaulitz. But even the famous twins were unable to generate good ratings. The sender did not respond and did not respond immediately.

ProSieben throws out “Superduper Show”

Before the first “Superduper Show” was broadcast, ProSieben did a lot of advertising. But all the fuss was apparently in vain, because the ratings after the first episode on Tuesday (September 17) were more than disappointing. Despite the prime time broadcast at 8:15 p.m., only a little less than half a million people tuned in.

ProSieben only expected a market share of a weak 2.3 percent overall. The young target group of 14 to 49 year olds could not be reached either – just 5.7 percent. The numbers speak for themselves, so ProSieben has now made a radical decision. “Unfortunately, the SuperduperShow did not find its audience on Tuesday evening. That's why we are taking it off the program,” the station announced on Thursday on “X”.

The show is scheduled to return in 2025

In the “Superduper Show”, celebrities try to develop funny show concepts together with the Tokio Hotel boys, based on children's ideas. In the first episode, presenter Katrin Bauerfeind welcomed Edin Hasanovic, Wigald Boning and Annette Frier.

According to the plan, three more episodes were to follow, but the project is now on hold – at least for the time being. ProSieben has not completely given up hope. “However, we still believe in the show's potential and will bring it back in 2025 to a time slot that makes it easier for families to watch,” the statement continues.
