Woman claims she was sexually harassed by police after seeking help

A woman has accused police officials of sexual harassment after she and an army officer sought help at the Bharatpur police station late Sunday night.

The woman, who was arrested and later released on bail, alleged that she was assaulted by female police officers and sexually harassed by male police officers during her detention. She is currently undergoing treatment at AIIMS-Bhubaneswar.

The National Women's Commission has taken note of the incident and requested an action report from the DGP within three days, emphasizing the need for urgent disciplinary action.

In addition, a case has been registered at Chandaka police station against unidentified persons who are said to have initially behaved inappropriately towards the duo.
