Safe Kids organizes events on child car seat safety

IOWA, USA (KCRG) – There are two events that parents in Iowa can attend to help keep their children safe in the car.

Safe Kids of Linn County and Johnson County host events to educate parents on how to buckle their children in car seats and keep them safe.

In Linn County, parents can bring their vehicle to Lynch Ford Chevrolet in Mount Vernon starting at 5:30 p.m., where a technician will ensure the seat is installed safely.

In Johnson County, Safe Kids partners with the University of Iowa Health Care Stead Family Children's Hospital from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.

The event includes a free ride to the University of Iowa Health Care Iowa River in Coralville.

Safety technicians also help with the installation of the seats.
