We are determined to fulfill people's aspirations, says CM Mohan Majhi

Presenting his government's 100-day report card at a special event in Puri on Thursday, Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Majhi claimed that all the promises made by his party in the 2024 election manifesto would be fulfilled on time.

Several Cabinet Ministers, Union Ministers, MLAs and saffron party MPs were present at the event.

Majhi reiterated that his government is committed to fulfilling the aspirations of the people in the run-up to the creation of ‘Viksit Odisha’ by 2036.

“The government should act according to the opinions and welfare of the people. After 24 years of rule, the previous BJD government was no longer in power due to its anti-people work. The previous government even used Lord Jagannath in politics. However, our 'Sankalpa Patra' (election manifesto) is like a holy book for our government. We have fulfilled some of the promises we made to the people in our 'Sankalpa Patra'. Other promises are also being fulfilled,” CM Majhi said.

“Our government opened all four dwaras (doors) of Puri Srimandir on the first day after coming to power. We have also started counting and inventorying the ornaments in the Ratna Bhandar. The previous government did not listen to the grievances of the people. We are listening to the grievances of the people in Bhubaneswar and will extend it to all districts in the coming days,” he added.

On the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the BJP government in Odisha, CM Majhi also attacked the former government.

“The previous government only took action against officials on corruption charges. However, our government has taken necessary action against all corruption and bribery allegations. 58 corrupt officials, including 16 top-notch officials, have been arrested. In 20 out of a total of 71 cases, assets of around Rs 665 million have been found, which are disproportionate to the known sources of income,” Majhi said.

Meanwhile, the opposition BJD sharply criticized the BJP, claiming that the ruling party had not kept its promises made to the people in the last election.

“There is no problem if they celebrate every day. But they should keep their promises to the people. The dual government should work for the long-term welfare of Odisha,” said BJD leader Debi Prasad Mishra.
