48-year-old man charged with sexually abusing a girl | News

A 48-year-old man has been accused of sexually abusing a girl. The molestation began when the girl was seven or eight years old, according to a complaint filed in the Supreme Court.

Kevin John C. Malalis was charged with first-degree sexual abuse as a first-degree felony and second-degree sexual abuse as a first-degree felony.

On Jan. 21, the girl, now a teenager, told police she had previously been assaulted by Malalis, whom she knows. She said when she was 7 or 8, he touched her breast or inner thighs and sometimes told her to lie on top of him, the complaint states.

She told police that he once forced her to perform oral sex.

The girl told police that she was afraid to report the assaults but came forward after reading a report on the news about a sexual abuse case, the complaint said.
