Actually, everything seems the same as before. With gags, music and nasty sayings, Stefan Raab presents his premiere show on RTL. The quiz format is new and offers plenty of money.

Stefan Raab has presented his new weekly entertainment show for the first time. The first episode of “You won't win the million with Stefan Raab” aired on RTL+ on Wednesday evening. After a break of almost ten years, the 57-year-old said “Thank you very much, I'm back!” at the opening.

First, everyone gets their comeuppance – just like in the old days: Peter Maffay, Florian Silbereisen, Regina Halmich and many others are made fun of in a conversational tone. Raab sings, supported by a male band, and makes jokes that even teenagers in the schoolyard could joke about. Here and there, a slightly cheesy saying like “Where are the chicks with the hairspray?”. A few more reshoots of his boxing match against Regina Halmich – and after a good half hour, the quiz begins.

Stefan Raab has to change car tires

Stefan Raab moderates and asks the candidates the quiz questions. Then they have to complete tasks – and now it's Raab's turn. Elton then takes over as guest moderator. He oversees the tasks that Raab and the first two participants have to face: They have to cut through a wire mesh fence – as a reminiscence of one of Raab's songs from his Pro7 days.

Then it's time for office standing chair tennis and a bike change. The challenges are met with varying degrees of success. Raab is not in top form and can only win the tennis. Corny Küpper's comments in the style of sports reporting make people smile.

Then it's a direct duel with Raab

Whoever advances has to beat Stefan Raab in a direct duel. Each round contains multiple choice questions – and a duel against Raab. If a candidate is eliminated, the next one moves up to play with the quizmaster for one million euros. In the premiere broadcast, candidate number one was only able to win 1,000 euros. Candidate number two can come back for the next broadcast.

Raab announced his new show format a few days ago – after his boxing match against Regina Halmich. It is not a live broadcast. The first episode was recorded before the broadcast. Episode two will be shown next Wednesday.
