Waterford man charged with sexually abusing several boys and photographing the victims

PONTIAC, MI – Oakland County District Attorney Karen McDonald on Tuesday filed additional charges against a Waterford man accused of sexually abusing underage boys. Logan Sutherland, 21, was arrested on Aug. 27 and charged with several felonies for the alleged assaults. Two additional charges were filed against him on Sept. 17.

In total, Sutherland is charged with four counts of second-degree sexual abuse, three counts of aggravated possession of child sexually abusive material and one count of child sexual abuse.

Sutherland is accused of attacking several underage boys over a period of several years after gaining the trust of the victims and their families. In addition to attacking the boys, Sutherland is also alleged to have taken photographs of the victims. Sutherland is currently being held in the Oakland County Jail.

“This defendant preyed on vulnerable children and parents,” McDonald said. “I admire the immense courage of the victims who have come forward. Sexual assault cases, particularly of children, are some of the most traumatic cases my office handles. These cases are handled by a dedicated Assistant District Attorney in my office's Special Victims Unit (SVU), and we are committed to bringing justice to the victims, their families and the community.”

In announcing the additional charges, McDonald also urged any other possible survivors or victims to come forward to police. WDIV-Detroit reports that four victims have already been identified, but investigators found photos of numerous other victims who have not yet been identified.
