Virginia Basketball welcomes four-star forward Tre Singleton for an official visit

Virginia has added another priority recruiting target to its busy schedule of official fall visits: Four-star power forward Tre Singleton, who has the Cavaliers in his top eight, has scheduled an official visit to UVA for next weekend (Sept. 20-22), Houston Wilson reported Tuesday.

Singleton is a 6-foot-8 forward who plays for Jeffersonville High School in Indiana. Both On3 and 247Sports rate him as a four-star prospect, making him the No. 72 overall recruit for the class of 2025, the No. 17 power forward in the country and the No. 4 player in the state of Indiana.

Singleton received offers from more than 20 programs, but narrowed his recruitment down to the final eight in early August, and UVA made the shortlist along with Clemson, Northwestern, Butler, Xavier, Louisville, Notre Dame and Purdue. Louisville, Purdue and Xavier are currently the favorites, but Tony Bennett and Co. will get to showcase their skills next weekend.

Virginia is still looking for its first commitment of the 2025 recruiting class, but the Cavaliers may soon have some good news in that regard, as a 247Sports recruiting expert has made a crystal ball prediction that has UVA landing the commitment of four-star point guard and Charlottesville native Chance Mallory.

This fall, Virginia has also hosted four-star point guard Keyshuan Tillery and four-star forward Cam Ward and will host Singleton this weekend and four-star point guard JJ Mandaquit later this month.
