5-year-old boy dies after collision with Tempo in Delhi's Wazirpur – The Week

New Delhi, Sept 18 (PTI) – A five-year-old boy died after he was run over by a car in northwest Delhi's Wazirpur industrial area, officials said on Wednesday.
The deceased was identified as Kartik, who lived with his parents near Udham Singh Park, it said.
“We have received information about an accident at Ashok Vihar police station. A team has been immediately sent to the spot,” said a senior police officer.
The child's father, Surjeet, who works in a factory, stated in his complaint to the police that his son was playing and trying to cross the road when a car mowed him down.
He further told police that he was taken to a nearby hospital where doctors pronounced him dead.
“We have arrested the driver Neeraj and seized the Tempo. Further investigation is underway in the matter,” the police officer said.
A video of the incident has also allegedly surfaced on the Internet, showing the child running down the street and being mowed down by oncoming traffic.
