Man acquitted of charges of using deadly weapons in 2023 skate park stabbing

The defendant is convicted in October of assault and possession of a weapon.

A Pottstown man was acquitted by a jury earlier this month of the most serious charge against him in connection with a stabbing incident last September at a Perkasie skate park, but he will be convicted in October of three misdemeanors and a misdemeanor.

According to court records, Nikolas Anthony Lore, 20, formerly of Perkasie, was found not guilty on Sept. 4 of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, but was found guilty of petty possession of a murder weapon, simple assault and reckless endangerment. Lore was also found guilty on one count of harassment.

Sentencing is scheduled for October 9 at 9:30 a.m. before Bucks County District Judge Charissa J. Liller.

Perkasie police were dispatched to Grand View Hospital at 4:55 p.m. on Sept. 25, 2023, to meet with the mother of a 15-year-old boy who was stabbed at the skate park. The mother said she met her son at the gazebo and noticed blood on his shirt. She was then approached by Lore, who said he “was sorry,” then immediately took her son to the hospital and called police, according to charging documents

While speaking with investigators, the victim stated that Lore retrieved a large knife from his vehicle and approached him, at which point the victim turned and ran away, police said. As the victim attempted to flee from Lore, he felt two “blunt force” blows to his back and then fled to a bathroom, where he noticed two cuts about three inches long on his upper back, the report states.

The victim was treated at the hospital for non-life-threatening injuries, police said. Investigators then went to the skate park, where Lore was found and arrested.

Police also said they found the knife when Lore was arrested.

At Lore's arraignment in September 2023, his bail was initially set at 10% of $150,000 in cash, but was changed to non-monetary bail in November 2023, according to court documents.

All suspects and defendants are innocent until proven guilty. This story was compiled from public court records.
