Mindalore stabbing victim identified

The victim of last week's stabbing, who died on the island along Albertina Sisulu Road in Mindalore, has been identified as 39-year-old Chance Holmes.

The commander of the Krugersdorp police station, Brigadier Happy Xaba, also confirmed that a murder case is under investigation.

“The victim had a stab wound to the chest and a ripped open abdomen. Emergency personnel on the scene pronounced him dead. The suspect is currently unknown,” Xaba said.

The victim's brother, Craig Barnard, said the news left him devastated.

“He was the most generous person I knew. The last time I saw and spoke to him, [a day before the murder] “We had a good, open conversation, as brothers do,” Barnard said.
