Production of Sean “Diddy” Combs’ documentary series “ID” about his rise and fall begins

A new documentary series from Investigation Discovery about the rise and fall of Sean “Diddy” Combs from Maxine Productions (Peace on set: The dark side of children's television) has started production.

Combs was arrested in New York on Monday after years of allegations of abuse and assault. Today he appeared in court to face charges of sex trafficking and organized crime, where he pleaded not guilty. Judge Robyn Tarnofsky denied him bail and remanded him to the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn, where he awaits his next court date on Wednesday, where his attorney, Marc Agnifilo, will appeal the judge's decision.

While incarcerated, Combs will be held in a special area for prisoners who require greater protection from the general population. Agnifilo has vowed to fight the charges alongside Combs, believing he will clear his name.

ID says the docuseries, which premieres in 2025, “explores the rise and influence of Sean “Diddy” Combs and the allegations of violent behavior and illegal activities that have surrounded the music mogul. As reports of sexual assault, abusive behavior and other disturbing allegations emerge, the documentary traces the story of this self-proclaimed bad boy and debunks allegations of a pattern of depravity.”

Additionally, the true crime-focused channel will highlight the voices of his accusers “who have alleged acts of violence and brutality” and “provide insight into the evolving allegations against the once untouchable superstar. It will also shed light on the toxic power dynamics that played out within the industry and silenced many survivors – until now.”

The project is produced for ID by Maxine Productions and IPC in association with Rolling Stone Films.
