Stefan Raab reveals details about new show – and challenges Günther Jauch

He's back! On Wednesday, the first regular show by and with Stefan Raab since his TV farewell almost ten years ago will start on RTL+. In the interview, the comeback star was as big as ever – and is declaring war on Günther Jauch.

After the live fight in the boxing ring, he is about to start his new series of shows: the first ever since Stefan Raab retired from TV almost ten years ago. Now the former ProSieben star is back on the screen. Initially exclusively on the streaming portal RTL+, “Du gewinnst hier nicht die Million bei Stefan Raab”, or DGHNDMBSR for short, starts on Wednesday evening at 8:10 p.m. In an interview for his new home channel, the 57-year-old revealed details about the show.

“I would say that this is the most honest million-dollar show on German television,” said Raab, indirectly challenging “Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?” presenter Günther Jauch. His candidates cannot expect much in the way of concessions: Of course I have no pity. The goal is that no one ever wins a million here.

A total of five candidates appear in each show. They can qualify in a buzzer round at the beginning – so far it sounds a lot like “Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?”. In each round, there are challenging multiple-choice questions and a duel against Raab. If the candidate is eliminated, another can take their place and play for the million.

Afraid of women? Candidate declares war on Stefan Raab

In the opening show on September 18th, there are four male candidates, as well as one female candidate who speculates in front of the RTL microphone that Raab is afraid of women. “And rightly so!” “He didn't know me yet.” One of her competitors for the million “did sit-ups and solved crossword puzzles at the same time” in the application video. Another says that he wants to use the million to buy a farm where he wants to take in homeless dogs. Another says: “I associate a very large part of my childhood with Stefan Raab.” For him, being a candidate is “the greatest thing ever.”

On Saturday evening, after his (lost) boxing rematch against Regina Halmich, Stefan Raab announced in a staged press conference: “I'm doing shows again.” For this purpose, he had signed a five-year contract with RTL. “You won't win a million here,” he later announced as the “world's first entertainment quiz competition hybrid show.” Raab's former show intern Elton will be the guest presenter at the start.
