Stabbing in Robina town centre: Bus driver stabbed by young man in large shopping centre on the Gold Coast

A bus driver was taken to hospital with stab wounds and a young man with a knife is on the run after a shocking incident on the Gold Coast.

Police were called to Robina Town Centre shopping centre at around 1pm on Wednesday following reports of a man stabbed in the hip.

Emergency services found a 60-year-old bus driver with stab wounds on Robina Town Centre Drive.

Queensland Ambulance Service confirmed that the bus driver was treated for minor stab wounds to his lower body.

The 60-year-old was admitted to Gold Coast University Hospital in a stable condition.

Following the incident, the police are urgently searching for the young male suspect.

“According to initial information, the perpetrator left the crime scene,” said a QPS spokesman.

A crime scene has been secured and investigations are ongoing.
