According to police, the accused are Manish Kumar of Firozabad, Uttar Pradesh, and Ayush Kumar of Muzaffarnagar, Bihar, both in their early 20s and working as daily wage labourers in Badhshapur.

Sandeep Kumar, Gurugram Police spokesperson, said the duo booked a motorbike ride through a taxi app at 5 am with a plan to rob the person who would pick them up. “As soon as the assigned biker reached the location, the two tried to get on the motorbike and the victim refused to ride with both of them. Following this, they stabbed him in the neck with a sharp weapon and fled with his motorbike and mobile phone before attacking him,” Kumar said.

The injured biker informed the police with the help of passers-by.

Manish tried to flee to his hometown to avoid arrest, but both were tracked down and caught on Tuesday. Police said the stolen bike and the murder weapon were recovered from their possession. The victim's phone has not been found yet.

An FIR under Section 309(6) (intentional causing hurt while committing robbery) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) was filed against the two at the Badshahpur police station.
