Manitoba RCMP: Accident involving SUV and tractor leaves fatalities

A man was killed in a collision between an SUV and a farm tractor on a highway in Manitoba on Monday.

RCMP began investigating shortly after 9 a.m. Monday after receiving a report of a collision on Highway 21, south of Provincial Road 543, in the RM of Sifton.

During their investigation, police determined that the driver of the SUV was traveling south on Highway 21 when he crossed the center line and collided head-on with a tractor-trailer traveling north.

The 31-year-old driver of the SUV was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident. The 21-year-old driver of the tractor was physically uninjured.

The Mounties point out that the SUV involved in the accident was stolen in Winnipeg.

The RCMP continues to investigate.
