Bill Maher doubles down on election prediction, but warns Democrats that “Trumpism” is here to stay

HBO host Bill Maher reiterated his prediction that Vice President Kamala Harris would win the 2024 election, but warned Democrats on his podcast that “Trumpism” would continue regardless of the election victory.

“I thought it was great [during the debate] and I couldn't be happier and I would bet my money that Kamala will win the election,” he said on Sunday on his podcast “Club Random.”

“I also understand that [former President] Trump, in my opinion, will go away after this. I think he's finally reached his Joe McCarthy stage where people are fed up with it… but Trumpism is not going away,” Maher predicted.

The liberal host, who frequently rails against the “woke” left, argued that the left's “madness” on issues of gender, race and free speech has alienated the average American.

HBO host Bill Maher predicted that “Trumpism” will not go away, even though he is convinced that Vice President Harris will win the 2024 election.

He argued that “Trumpism” would continue as long as Democrats did not condemn these extreme views.

“I would define 'Trumpism' as fear of the madness of the far left – which is not entirely unfounded – and therefore anyone is better than them. Trump proves that because he is that 'everyman.' If Trump is OK, if he, in all his monstrosity, is still better than what the left fears, then that is a problem the left needs to grapple with,” Maher said.

“Until you address this issue, they will always come up with a Trump,” he continued.

“They believe the other side poses such an existential threat, and in turn the other side gives them so much ammunition to believe that that they think it's all justified,” he said of Republicans who support Trump.

The moderator of “Real Time” declared for the first time after the presidential debate that Trump would lose the election.

“Tonight I say: I think it's over,” Maher said, drawing cheers from his liberal audience.

“Before us, in the early '50s, there was a man named Joe McCarthy who had a tight grip on America… For two or three years he was the biggest guy, and then it was just like that, and I feel like we're at that point.”
