Wendy's sells Jr. Bacon Cheeseburger for 1 cent

A penny saved is a penny earned, sure, but a penny spent can buy you a whole cheeseburger this week.

On September 18th – National Cheeseburger Day – Wendy's customers can get a Jr. Bacon Cheeseburger for 1 cent (with an additional purchase) to celebrate the coming together of beef, bun and cheese.

Luckily, the offer lasts longer than just one day, until September 22nd. That means people have a full five days to satisfy their hunger with the spare change lurking in their sofa cushions.

If you fancy a burger that costs 89 times less today than it did in 1979, you can use the digital offer in the Wendy's app.

There are a few restrictions to this offer, however: The limited-time offer is only available at participating Wendy's locations in the U.S. and must be redeemed in the Wendy's app or website. Account registration is required.

Of course, Wendy's isn't the only burger chain celebrating National Cheeseburger Day: Burger King is offering members of its Royal Perks loyalty program a free cheeseburger on the holiday. The chain is also offering other freebies for an entire week, from mozzarella fries to breakfast sandwiches and more, all with a purchase of $1 or more.

Wendy's has a few other fall deals lined up in addition to the burger holiday. First, rewards members can get a free serving of Hot & Crispy Fries (any size) with any in-app purchase every Friday through the end of 2024. Additionally, members can snag small Frosty treats for $1 through the end of the month.

Finally, Wendy's has introduced the Big Noon Saucy Deal for $5, where customers can get a six-count serving of Saucy Nuggs in one of seven flavors, a small order of fries, and a small soft drink for $5. The deal is valid throughout football season and is available exclusively on the Wendy's app.
