A 15-year-old British boy is fighting for his life after a terrible accident at a water park in Mallorca. The teenager was taken to hospital on Monday afternoon after paramedics had to resuscitate him at the scene.

According to local media, the accident occurred on Monday afternoon in Hidropark Alcudia. “The History of the Balearic Islands” writes, the boy hit his head while sliding down a water slide and subsequently lost consciousness. When he reached the end of the slide, he sank to the bottom of the pool and had to be rescued from drowning. Lifeguards rushed to the scene immediately. During resuscitation efforts, the teenager regained his pulse, but remained unconscious. He was transported as quickly as possible to the Son Espases University Hospital. Road intersections were closed so that the ambulance could get through traffic unhindered. It is not known how the boy is currently doing. Investigations are being carried out into the exact circumstances of the accident.
