Dale County man dies after tractor accident

CLAYHATCHEE, Alabama (WTVY) – A Dale County man died Monday after a tractor-trailer accident.

Dale County Coroner John Cawley confirmed to News4 that the incident occurred around 5 p.m. in Clayhatchee near the intersection of Alabama Highways 92 and 85.

The man involved, 69-year-old Paul Thomas Jr. of Clayhatchee, was initially on his tractor when he got off to make some repairs. The tractor was not in park when he got off and he was eventually struck by it.

Shortly afterwards, the emergency services arrived on site and Thomas was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident.

The investigation into the incident is still ongoing.
