Diddy arrested in New York for sexual harassment

Controversial US rapper Sean “Diddy” Combs was arrested in New York City on unspecified federal charges.

The 54-year-old hip-hop mogul was arrested by Department of Homeland Security agents on Monday at the hotel where he was staying, the Park Hyatt New York on 57th Street.

In a statement shared via X, Damian Williams, the U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of New York, confirmed the rapper's arrest.

While the charges against Combs are unclear, Williams said, “We expect to be able to release the indictment tomorrow morning and will be able to say more then.”

Diddy has been in the public spotlight since November 2023 after several women, including Cassie Ventura, the rapper's ex-girlfriend, sued him, claiming they were sexually assaulted.

Rodney “Lil Rod” Jones, Diddy's former producer, also filed a lawsuit claiming the rapper sexually harassed, drugged and threatened him for over a year.

In March, the U.S. Department of Homeland Security searched two properties linked to Diddy.

In May, a video surfaced showing Combs attacking Cassie in 2016.

Diddy, who had denied Cassie's allegations, however, apologized, saying he was “sincerely sorry” and that his actions were “inexcusable.”

A Michigan inmate was recently awarded $100 million in default judgment for a sexual assault lawsuit against Diddy.
