Barry Keoghan talks about unusual parenting style

Barry Keoghan has spoken about his relationship with his young son in a revealing new interview.

The Irish star spoke candidly about growing up in care homes following the tragic death of his mother and discussed how his upbringing influenced his parenting style.

Barry welcomed his son Brando with his former partner Alyson Sandro in 2022.

Speaking to Entertainment Weekly about his parenting style, Barry spoke openly about himself as a father.

“I didn't have a father figure during my childhood, so my relationship with my son isn't quite a normal father-son relationship,” he explained.

“Because I don't have this figure from which I can draw experiences and rely. You don't need love to draw from, love is pure, and that's not what I'm concerned with, but rather little things like teaching your son this or that.”

Barry recently shared a rare snap with his son amid reports that his relationship with “Espresso” singer Sabrina Carpenter had ended.

The couple, who met in September 2023, are said to have been together for several months. However, rumors of a possible separation have been circulating for weeks.

Insiders claimed the star couple had ended their brief romance, but after posting some snaps on Instagram, 31-year-old Keoghan didn't seem too heartbroken.

The Irish actor posted a sweet snapshot with his beloved son Brando on Instagram and all fans immediately commented on the caption, which is probably a reference to the recent speculation.

While posing with baby Brando, whom he has with dental hygienist Alyson Kierans, he wrote: “He is more charming than me. Our little Brando.”
