Telugu choreographer Jani, Master of Thalapathy, Vijay Butta Bomma and Stree 2 Aayi Nai accused of sexual assault by 21-year-old

The Telugu film industry has been rocked by allegations of sexual harassment against renowned choreographer Jani Master, formerly known as Shaik Jani Basha. A 21-year-old choreographer, who had worked with Jani for the past few months, accused him of multiple counts of sexual harassment.

Sexual assault charges against Telugu choreographer Jani Master

According to reports, an FIR has been filed against him under sections 376 (rape), 506 (criminal intimidation) and 323 (intentional causing hurt) of the IPC.

The woman filed a complaint with Raidurgam police in Hyderabad, alleging that Jani had assaulted her during outdoor shoots in various cities, including Chennai, Mumbai and Hyderabad. She also alleged that he had assaulted her multiple times at her residence in Narsingi. The case has since been transferred to Narsingi police for further investigation.

The complainant stated that the incidents occurred in 2019 but remained silent due to threats from Jani Master, who allegedly warned her of being blacklisted in the industry. She also mentioned that she had been intimidated by his employees.

Shikha Goel, Director General of Women Safety Wing (WSW) Telangana, confirmed that members of the film industry had approached her for advice. She advised them to initiate an internal investigation under the Prevention of Sexual Harassment (PoSH) Act and file an official complaint with the law enforcement authorities as the allegations attracted criminal consequences.

This is not the first time that Jani Master has had legal troubles. Earlier this year, a dancer named Satish filed a harassment suit against him.

Jani Master, known for choreographing songs by stars like Allu Arjun, Salman Khan and Jr NTR, is yet to comment on the allegations. He has worked on popular songs like “Aayi Nai” from “Stree 2” and “Arabic Kuthu” from “Beast”.
