Hearing scheduled for man who allegedly stabbed and killed mother

CHARLOTTE COUNTY, Fla. (WWSB) – The Charlotte County man accused of stabbing and killing his mother during Christmas week of 2024 has been declared incompetent to stand trial.

According to police, 24-year-old Connor Crumrine attacked his mother and sisters with a knife in December. The Charlotte County man initially faced serious bodily harm until his mother, Jennifer, died of her injuries in the hospital.

According to court documents, before the attack, his mother had planned to take Crumrine to a psychiatric hospital for treatment.

Doctors have met with Crumrine twice and, after analysis, determined that he has been diagnosed with both bipolar I and schizophrenia. He also noted that Crumrine claims he is “not crazy” and refuses to take medication in prison.

It is recommended that he be treated in a government facility.
