Violent attack on Amethi priest: Family injured in break-in | News from Lucknow

Lucknow: A temple priest, his wife and mother were injured when a group of six armed men reportedly entered their house and opened fire. The attack took place in The village of Raghipur from Amethi's Gauriganj on Sunday evening.
The attackers fired several shots, one bullet hitting the priest's mother in the face.
“The mother was referred to the KGMU Trauma Centre, while the priest, Gorakhnath Giriand his wife were discharged after minor treatment,” said Amethi SP Anup Singh.
He said proceedings had been initiated against 10 people, including six named suspects, adding that four of the six accused had been arrested.
The dispute allegedly started on Saturday when a local resident, Vipul Singh, and his helpers allegedly attacked Giri, the priest of Shiva Temple in the Shaktipeeth Durga Bhavani Dham over a dispute. Giri filed a complaint against Singh and his two unidentified aides.
On Sunday around 9.30 pm, Vipul Singh and his helpers armed with sticks, firearms and sharp weapons entered Giri's house and attacked Giri (53), his wife Maya Devi (45) and his mother Rajkumari (75).
“After receiving the information, the police arrived at the scene and took the injured to the hospital. Two cartridge cases were found at the scene,” said the SP.
