Woman dead after ‘targeted’ knife attack in Surrey

Victim of the September 8 stabbing succumbed to his injuries after being found unconscious

The victim of a stabbing in Surrey last week has now succumbed to his injuries.

On Sunday, September 8, just after 2 a.m., a 40-year-old woman was located by police, unconscious but breathing. Police had been called to the area of ​​108 Avenue and King George Boulevard because a pedestrian had been struck. After initial investigation, Surrey RCMP determined that she had not been involved in a car accident, but had been the victim of a stabbing.

With visible stab wounds and blood-stained clothing, the woman was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries. In an update to Peace Arch News On Monday morning (September 16), police announced that the victim had succumbed to his injuries.

36-year-old Jennifer Kipp was arrested by police shortly after the incident and charged with assault and aggravated assault the same day.

The police announced on Tuesday (September 10) that it was a targeted stabbing.

The investigation into the incident is ongoing, said Sergeant Tammy Lobb. Kipp's next appearance in Surrey Provincial Court is scheduled for Tuesday (Sept. 17), according to the court's online service. She remains in custody.

“Our thoughts are with the victim’s family and friends at this time,” Lobb said.
