Teenager stabbed in the back during argument in Grand Island, police say

LINCOLN, Nebraska (KLKN) – A teenager faces multiple felony charges following a stabbing in Grand Island on Friday, police said.

The stabbing occurred around 1:30 p.m. near Locust and Hedde streets.

According to police, a teenager was stabbed in the back during an argument with friends. After the stabbing, a fight broke out.

Officers later found the 17-year-old boy who stabbed the victim, police said.

According to police, investigators knew that the teenager had driven out of town and discarded the knife in an “unknown location.”

The boy was charged with first-degree assault, use of a weapon to commit a crime and tampering with evidence.

The extent of the victim's injuries is unknown.
