At the end of August, Apple announced a major update to its “Apple Sports” app. Apple Sports 2.0 is now available for download in the App Store with various improvements. The only drawback of the app is that it is only available in the USA, Great Britain and Canada. Germany and many other countries are left out.

Apple Sports 2.0 is here

With the release of iOS 18 (expected to launch around 7pm PT), the app will expand to include Live Activity, allowing you to see real-time scores right on your iPhone screen and Apple Watch. Scores will update automatically once a game starts, eliminating the need for manual updates.

Users can choose which teams they want to follow to ensure that only selected teams trigger live activity. There is also the option to receive updates for individual games by tapping a new button on the game card.

In addition, Apple is adapting the user interface of Apple Sports with iOS 18. The update brings a new search to make it easier to find leagues that users are not currently following. The navigation menu has also been revised so that the sub-items can be reached more quickly.

The Apple Sports app supports a wide range of topics. In addition to the Bundesliga, MLS, MLB, NFL, NBA, WNBA, NHL, the Premier League and other leagues are supported.
