Shots fired near a popular Halloween attraction

GREEN TOWNSHIP, Ohio (WXIX) – Authorities are investigating after shots were fired near a popular Halloween attraction on the west side of Hamilton County over the weekend.

According to police, it happened around 10:18 p.m. Saturday on Harrison Avenue near the Dent Schoolhouse in Green Township.

The Dent Schoolhouse was closed while Green Township and other police agencies investigated.

According to police, no injuries were reported.

“Initial reports indicated that a suspect on Harrison Avenue pulled out a firearm during an argument and began firing shots. Harrison Avenue was closed for approximately two hours while officers investigated the scene and removed several unruly juveniles and young adults from the area,” Green Township police said in a post on the department's Facebook page.

“Green Twp officers were assisted by officers from multiple jurisdictions including Cheviot, Colerain, Cincinnati, Delhi and Hamilton County (Sheriff's Office). No one was struck by the gunfire.

“The individuals involved in the shooting have been identified and firearms seized. The incident remains under investigation.”

Dent Schoolhouse customers “are safe and our security team has been keeping an eye on our customers both inside and outside the attraction. Safety is our top concern and we will keep you updated as we receive more information from local police,” the Dent Schoolhouse said in its own social media post.
