'I think I've lost my head': Annandale man jailed after stabbing wife following argument

(KNSI) – An Annandale man is in jail in Wright County after allegedly stabbing his wife following an argument in their home on September 12.

According to the indictment, 85-year-old Rodney Allen Anderson called 911 shortly before 10:00 a.m. and told dispatchers what he had done and that he was not sure if his wife was still alive. Police arrived and entered the home to check on the woman and found her lying on the kitchen floor. First responders attempted to save her life but found that she had suffered multiple stab wounds and pronounced her dead at the scene. Officers cleared the home and found a “large kitchen knife in the sink that appeared to have blood on it.”

According to court documents, Anderson had blood splatter on his glasses, nose, hand, clothing and shoes. He told investigators the two had been married for more than 65 years but argued a lot. They began arguing around 7:00 a.m. that day and continued arguing until he called 911. He told officers, “I think I lost my head” and picked up a knife from the chopping block, but he doesn't remember how many times he stabbed his wife.

Anderson was charged with second-degree premeditated murder without premeditation.
